There’s a split among Republicans as to what to do about Wisconsin’s parole board chief.
State Senator Roger Roth yesterday asked for an extraordinary session to remove John Tate from the state’s Parole Board. Tate has been under fire since approving an early release for a convicted murdered last month. Roth says lawmakers have to hold Governor Evers’ accountable for his soft on crime policies. But the head of the Wisconsin Senate, Senator Devin LeMahieu said he wants to use the issue to punish the governor with voters this fall.
Roth says the Senate needs to act so other hardened criminals aren’t released between now and Election Day.
