Public health managers in Wisconsin are on-board with the proposal to ban menthol cigarettes.
A coalition of doctors and public health groups yesterday said the FDA’s proposed rules that would ban menthol cigarettes and cigars will help stop some people from smoking, and will help the African American community. Dr. Geoffrey Swain, the President of the Wisconsin Public Health Association, says tobacco companies have marketed menthol cigarettes to young people for far too long.
The proposed ban must work its way through the process in Washington, D.C. before it can become law.
