Madison’s mayor doesn’t want to miss-out on the millions of dollars coming from Washington, D.C. for more trains.
Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway yesterday said the city is moving ahead with a study to see where a new Amtrak station could be built. She noted that the Biden Administration’s infrastructure plan includes a 500 percent increase for passenger rail. The mayor wants to look to see where Amtrak can grow its service, both in Madison and across the state.
