Suspect Arrested, Community Bands Together

A suspect is under arrest in connection with the death f Lily Peters.  Chippewa Falls Police Chief Matthew Kelm says they arrested a juvenile on suspicion of killing 10 year old Illiana “Lily” Peters. 

No word yet on how the two were connected.  Police found Peters’ body on Monday in a wooded area after her family reported her missing on Sunday night.

And now, the next steps involve banding together for Lily.

There was a vigil held last night in Lily’s memory at a Chippewa Falls church and at Leinenkugel’s Brewery.  A resident has launched a petition drive to create a program called a “Lily Alert” that would notify communities more quickly and enable a faster response in cases such as this one. 

The petition drive has already collected more than 17-thousand signatures.
