You have ‘No Shave November’, now we have ‘No Mow May’. A number of cities in Wisconsin are taking part in the informal program to not mow the grass for the entire month of May.
The idea is to let grass grow to give bees and others a chance to take advantage of the spring growth. Appleton started the movement a few years ago, and this year Green Bay, DePere, and Oshkosh have signed-on. Cities are asking people to register for ‘No Mow May’, in order to avoid fines for people who simply never mow.
