We could have to wait until the fall to get some answers about the on-going investigation into Eau Claire County’s Department of Human Services.
Sheriff Ron Cramer yesterday asked that search warrants in the case be sealed for another 180 days. Cramer has been investigating a million-dollar ‘error’ in DHS’ budget for nearly two years. Some of the search warrants in the case were supposed to be opened yesterday, but that’s now been pushed back to October. The sheriff says DHS workers and leaders have been uncooperative in the investigation. There are no arrests in the case.
