It will be one last summer for the Bernard Willi Municipal Pool in Chippewa Falls.
The city yesterday said it will be closing the pool after the end of this year’s swimming season. The city council agreed that renovating or replacing the poll is not worth the cost. The price tag for a renovation is as much as two million-dollars, and a total rebuild could cost as much as four million-dollars.
Chippewa Falls Councilman Rob Kiefer said he likes the pool, but said the city can’t keep ‘shoveling money into this money pit.’
