Bird Flu Continues in Midwest

The state of Wisconsin is admitting it can’t do a lot about the bird flu in wild birds.

DNR biologist Taylor Finger yesterday said the state is working with poultry farmers and people who have backyard chickens to keep those flocks safe, but he said there’s little that can be done to stop the flu’s spread among wild birds.

DNR has confirmed the bird flu in flocks in four counties and confirmed the flu in wild birds in several others. Many states in the Midwest are also dealing with bird flu outbreaks of their own.
