Some of the first phone calls Cavalier Johnson says he made as Milwaukee’s new mayor were to the Republicans who run the state legislature.
Johnson spent his first day as mayor yesterday talking about his priorities. Johnson says he is working to repair the ‘broken relationship’ with state lawmakers. He says that will take time. Johnson made it clear, though, he will be looking for more state money to pay for things in Milwaukee, including pieces of his new public safety plan.
