The sheriff in Vernon County says someone is stealing traffic signs, and says it’s not funny.
Sheriff John Spears yesterday said thieves have taken signs in Viroqua, Westby, Coon Valley, Chaseburg, Stoddard, Genoa, Readstown and Viola. The sheriff’s department says the signs are there for a reason, and a missing stop sign or yield sign could end-up causing a crash.
He’s asking people throughout the county to keep an eye on their signs, and report any that go missing.
