Wisconsin’s bird flu outbreak is growing.
The state’s Department of Agriculture yesterday said the flu has been found in a flock of backyard chickens in Rock County. Investigators say they killed all 22 chickens in the backyard flock to try and contain the outbreak. It’s the second domestic flock to have tested positive for highly pathogenic avian influenza. The Department of Ag killed over two-point-seven million chickens at a commercial farm in Jefferson County after discovering the bird flu there.
The flu has also turned-up in several wild birds in several counties across the state.
