A bald eagle in Dane County has tested positive for the bird flu.
The state’s Department of Natural Resources says the bird flu has turned-up in a handful of wild birds in several counties across the state. The announcement comes as Wisconsin is working to contain a bird flu outbreak at a chicken farm in Jefferson County. The state killed over two-and-a-half million chickens last month to try and stop that outbreak from spreading.
DNR says anyone who sees birds with flu symptoms or displaying unusual behavior should report it immediately.
