School kids in Wisconsin will now officially observe nine-eleven.
Governor Evers yesterday signed a new law adding September 11th to the state’s list of special observation days. That puts nine-eleven on the same list as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day, Susan B. Anthony’s birthday, Environmental Awareness Day, Bullying Awareness Day, and Veterans Day. Kids will not automatically get the day off.
The new law specifies that the day is to remember the attacks that occurred on September 11th, 2001, and to honor law enforcement officers and firefighters.
