A Milwaukee police officer accused of double-dipping to get her college expenses paid has resigned as part of a deferred prosecution agreement.
Officer Patricia Swayka left the force yesterday. Prosecutors say she billed the city for just over 37 hundred-dollars in tuition reimbursement that she was not eligible for. The resignation agreement allows Swayka to apply for a job with another police department in the future. Milwaukee police officers are eligible for 15 hundred-dollars per-year in tuition reimbursement, but only if they first pay those costs out of pocket.
Investigators say Swayka did not do that.
