An eighth grader from Fitchburg is the winner of the 2022 Badger State Spelling Bee.
Homeschooler Maya Jadhav won by correctly spelling the geometry term “obrotund.” Jadhav won out of a field of more than 50 students yesterday in the Mitby Theater at Madison Area Technical College’s Truax campus. Jadhav moves on to compete in Washington, D.C. at the 2022 Scripps National Spelling Bee over Memorial Day week.
