The U.S. Supreme Court is throwing out Wisconsin’s redrawn legislative maps.
The ruling means the Wisconsin Supreme Court will have to take another look at a case deciding where state Senate and Assembly district lines should be drawn before this fall’s election. The U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling also comes just before candidates take out papers to gather signatures to get on the ballot. Candidates can’t file that paperwork without knowing the boundaries of their districts.
The order doesn’t change U-S House districts set by the state court this month.
