Wisconsin’s Attorney General is suing the maker of firefighting foam in the state for forever chemical pollution.
Attorney General Josh Kaul filed the lawsuit yesterday that accuses Johnson Controls and its subsidiary Tyco Fire Controls of lying about pollution at its testing site in Marinette for years. Kaul says the chemicals in the foam have leached into the soil and groundwater. There are no official standards for PFAS chemicals, only advisories from both the state and federal government. Kaul wants Johnson Controls to pay for a clean-up, pay for bottled water for affected communities, and pay a fine.
