The defense team asks the judge not to require Chandler Halderson to appear for his sentencing.
Halderson’s defense team presented the petition yesterday. The 23-year old was found guilty in January of the murder and dismemberment of his parents last summer. The defense bases its request on their claim that the penalty for their client’s crimes is already known which is mandatory life in prison. Halderson has a sentencing hearing March 17th. It is not known whether the judge will agree to waive Halderson’s appearance at the hearing.
