Just about everyone should have their lights back on after western Wisconsin’s stormy weekend. Xcel Energy crews say a couple of hundred people didn’t have power yesterday after storms swept across the area. Folks in the Hayward and Cable areas were hit the hardest.
Across the state, other places were hit by a punch from Mother Nature as well. It was a tornado. The National Weather Service is confirming that a tornado touched-down late Saturday night southeast of Stoughton. There are no reports of any serious injuries. Forecasters say there’s plenty of damage.
Several roofs were damaged, one farm building was completely destroyed, and there were several trees ripped out of the ground. The Weather Service says winds likely topped-out at 95 miles-per-hour in the storm.
