Wisconsin’s new political map will have Governor Tony Evers’ name on it.
The state’s Supreme Court yesterday decided to go with the governor’s design for statehouse and congressional seats. Swing Justice Brian Hagedorn said the governor’s map moved the fewest number of people around. The governor’s map also gives Democrats in the state a better chance in a handful of races, including two races for Congress. The conservative justices on the court say choosing the governor’s map, as opposed to the one drawn by Republican lawmakers, ignores how the ma-making process is supposed to work.
