Wisconsin’s cheeses got shut-out at this year’s World Championship Cheese Contest.
Cheesemakers named the winners yesterday, and none of them are from Wisconsin. The state saw the most finalists of any area in the contest, but couldn’t land a top prize. This year’s “big cheese” is a gruyere from Switzerland. The runner-up was an Appenzeller, also from Switzerland.
