Phishing is when scammers try to scam you through your email, smishing is when they try the same thing through your text messages.
Wisconsin’s DMV is warning of a smishing scam. The DMV says several people have complained about fake text messages asking for personal information and a credit card number to validate their driver’s licenses. The DMV says it doesn’t send out texts like that, and is warning it is 100-percent a scam.
