Some of Milwaukee’s new tourism money will go to help bigger cruise ships dock at the city’s port.
Governor Tony Evers this week announced 22-million-dollars in tourism grants. Yesterday, managers at the Port of Milwaukee said six-million-dollars of that money will go to improve the docks to help lure the big lake cruise ships to town. The hope is to complete the upgrades at the south shore dock by sometime next year.
Lake cruises are on-hold because of the coronavirus, but cruise companies hope they can get back to cruising sometime later this year.
