Fire investigators from the Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department and the Marshfield Police Department are releasing new information related to the fatal fire that occurred at 3401 Frey Court, Lot 20, Marshfield, WI 54441 on January 24th , 2022.
The cause of the fire on January 24 th at 3401 Frey Court, Lot 20 that took the life of occupant Herman
John Greuel, age 62, was the result of an overloaded electrical extension cord. Mr. Greuel died as a result
of injuries sustained in the fire.
The Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department would like to remind all home occupants to never use an extension cord with a portable space heater, maintain a clearance of at least 3 feet to any
combustibles, and ensure working smoke detectors are in your home.
