Researchers at UW-La Crosse will be spending a lot more time on the water in the next year or so.
The university yesterday announced a gift that will pay for a new Mississippi River research vessel. The idea is to study the river and look at ways to maintain and protect the Mississippi. The half-million dollar gift will be used to build a custom boat for the university. Researchers say it will take a year-and-a-half to design and build, they hope to be out on the water after that.
