Madison Gas and Electric is buying part of a wind farm in Grant County.
The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin approved the purchase yesterday. Madison Gas and Electric will own ten percent of the energy from the Red Barn Wind Farm, which is being built near Wingville and Clifton. Wisconsin Public Service will own 90 percent. The wind farm’s expected to start serving customers by the end of the year.
