The hope is to have all of the gas service restored to folks in Juneau later this morning.
A crash near the airport yesterday afternoon caused a natural gas leak, and knocked-out service to about a thousand homes. It took crews hours just to repair the leak. They spent the overnight hours going door-to-door relighting pilot lights and making sure everyone’s service has been restored. Alliant Energy says that task will continue for the next few hours.
