There aren’t any details about the young child who is being listed as Wisconsin’s first coronavirus death of someone under 10-years-old.
The state’s Department of Health Services listed the child deaths last week, but isn’t saying if they had any underlying health conditions or other issues. It is extremely rare for young children to die from the coronavirus.
DHS says of the state’s nearly 10 thousand coronavirus deaths, just seven of them are among people under the age of 19. DHS says 73 percent of coronavirus deaths are among people who are 70 or older, and doctors say many of them had other health concerns.
