Several communities in central Wisconsin are raising awareness to prevent house fires.
Cities such as Wausau and Stevens Point are promoting the Keep the Wreath Green Campaign, where local residents put up wreaths with green light bulbs. Every time a house in the community catches on fire a green bulb gets swapped out for a red one. The goal is to keep the wreaths as green as possible. The campaign runs through New Year’s Day.
