A peek into the classroom shows a shortage of substitute teachers here locally.
Superintendent Michael Johnson yesterday taught a first grade class at Sherman Elementary School. Johnson says the district has struggled for months to find enough subs, but says things are worse this week. Eau Claire schools currently have 90 open positions, though not all of those are in-the-classroom jobs.
