The Eau Claire Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in a duplex over night.
On arrival, smoke was showing from the rear of the structure and at the roof level. Crews made entry and located fire
in a back hallway ceiling and bedroom ceiling area. The area was opened up and extinguished as additional crews
searched the structure for victims and provided ventilation for the smoke, heat, and fire.
All of the occupants had exited the structure and reported no injuries. 7 occupants were relocated from the affected
side of the duplex and a single occupant was relocated from the adjacent duplex.
Fire personnel performed salvage operations to protect valuables for the residents. Crews remain on scene at the time of report and the fire investigation is on-going.
