UPDATE:
The Sheriff’s Office has updated information and we now know the names of those involved:
Deceased: Curtis C Wright age 56 of Eau Claire, WI.
Other Driver: Andrew J Lomprey age 32 of Chippewa Falls, WI.
The preliminary investigation shows evidence that Lomprey was traveling west bound on CTH S, he then entered into the east bound lane of traffic and struck the Wright vehicle head on as he was traveling east bound on CTH S. The accident investigation is on going at this time.

A crash turns deadly in Chippewa Co.
It was just before 6 on Sunday morning when the Sheriff’s office received a report of a two- vehicle crash with injuries. One vehicle was traveling westbound on CTH S, the second vehicle was traveling eastbound. The vehicles were involved a head on collision causing major damage to the vehicles.
The driver and lone occupant of the westbound vehicle was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and lone occupant of the eastbound vehicle was trapped in the vehicle and sustained life ending injuries. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
