Wisconsin lawmakers are looking to rollback some of the 50 thousand regulations for hunters, fishermen, and trappers in the state.
An Assembly panel yesterday okayed a plan that would require the Department of Natural Resources to erase three regulations for every new regulation they want to put on the books. State Rep. Calvin Callahan says the idea is to make it easier for Wisconsin’s sportsmen to get out into the outdoors. DNR’s 50 thousand regulations for hunters and trappers is more than the next three most-regulated state agencies combined.
Democrats at the Capitol worry the proposal will just lead to more red tape.
