Eau Claire is in the bullseye for the worst of tomorrow’s winter storm.
The National Weather Service already has a Winter Storm Watch in place for tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night. Forecasters say Eau Claire and the Chippewa Valley could see between six and ten inches of snow. They are hoping that most of the snow falls later at night. Today’s forecast calls for a wintry mix during the day, then some light snow later this evening. CLICK FOR MORE FROM WEAU 13 SKYWARN FORECAST
Once it falls, the city of Eau Claire is explaining why some people may have snow on their streets for the next couple of days.
The city yesterday said roads are plowed based on a priority schedule. Street manager Steven Thompson says main roads, like Brackett Avenue, Rudolph Road, and Golf Road are the highest priorities. After that it’s roads with businesses or schools, and finally Thompson says plows will take care of neighborhood roads. He says people need to have some patience after a big snowfall.
