Wisconsin’s piece of the national opioid settlement will come to 420 million-dollars.
Lawmakers yesterday approved the settlement with opioid-maker Johnson & Johnson, and three companies that distributed the pills. Overall, the companies are paying the states 26 billion-dollars. The state, as well as 87 local governments across Wisconsin are all part of the settlement. The money will be paid out over the next 18 years, and will be split between the state and local government for recovery, treatment, and addiction services.
