As the smells of Thanksgiving fill the air, we wish you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving.
The clock is ticking closer to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The annual tradition will be back in full form this morning after being scaled down last year.
And for the first time ever, it can be watched live on NBC’s Peacock streaming service. Fans will see celebrities, floats, marching bands, and those iconic giant balloons. Twenty-eight of them will be soaring, including Baby Yoda and five other new entries.
Here locally, there are many options for folks looking to connect and enjoy a traditional spread.
Volunteers at The Saving Grace Lutheran Church will serve a free Thanksgiving meal from 11 this morning til 4 this afternoon. There will also be a meal at the Hope Gospel Mission. There are also opportunities for a Thanksgiving meal down in the La Crosse area. You can find out more online.
Overall, more people are planning to gobble ’til they wobble!
Thanksgiving holiday travel is looking almost like it did before the pandemic. Triple-A predicts close to 53-and-a-half million Americans will travel over the next five days, 13-percent more than last year and only five-percent less than two years ago, before the pandemic hit. The motor club expects more than 48-million people to get on the road and over four-million to fly.
Whatever your own plans are today, big or small, wishing you and yours a blessed and joyous day!
