WI DNR Investigates Elk Shooting

WI DNR Investigates Elk Shooting

Wisconsin’s Department of Natural Resources is looking into the killing of an elk during the first weekend of deer hunting season.

It happened in Columbia County over the weekend. Investigators are not sure if a Wisconsin or an out-of-state hunter killed the elk. It is illegal to kill an elk outside of elk season. Whoever pulled the trigger will face a fine, and could face misdemeanor charges. The DNR says it took the elk into custody as evidence.
