Political Lines Drawn in Political Map Redraw

The battle over Wisconsin’s new political boundaries is headed for court.

As expected, Governor Tony Evers yesterday vetoed the maps drawn by Republican lawmakers. The governor says they are gerrymandered, and give the Republicans too much of an advantage. The Republican maps passed because both Republicans and Democrats voted against the governor’s so-called People’s Maps. The veto ensures that a court will decide the state’s boundaries for the state legislature and Congress. But no one is saying when that will happen.
