A craft turkey ice cream is apparently a big hit in San Francisco.
The lines are long at the Salt & Straw shops. Fans of the Portland-based ice cream maker are placing orders for the “Caramelized Turkey and Cranberry Sauce,” which features turkey bacon that’s churned into a buttery brittle with thyme and pepper. The limited Thanksgiving flavors also include Parker House Rolls with Salted Buttercream, Sweet Potato Pie with Double Baked Almond Sreusel, and Pumpkin and Gingersnap Pie.
