One of Wisconsin’s largest dairy co-ops is hoping the Biden Administration enforces labeling laws for milk and cheese.
The Edge Dairy Cooperative on Friday asked the new head of the FDA to crackdown on plant-based cheese and milk. Edge’s Brody Stapel says federal labeling laws spell-out that milk and cheese come from cows or sheep, not plants or nuts. He’s asking the new FDA commissioner to enforce the law and get tougher on new products that use the words ‘milk’ or ‘cheese.’ Staple has said for years that customers are often confused by non-dairy milks and cheeses.
