Milwaukee is hoping to put an end to reckless driving with a new legislation.
The Department of Public Works announced that the city may join the “Twenty is Plenty” program which would drop the speed limit in the city from 25-miles-per-hour to 20-miles-per-hour. In a statement, DPW officials say they believe Milwaukee joining the program would have a positive impact on the city, however, Milwaukee’s police chief said he isn’t sold on the idea yet. The Milwaukee Public Works committee plans to discuss joining the “Twenty is Plenty” program at its December meeting.
