Closing arguments are scheduled to begin Monday in what has been a very closely-watched trial involving Kyle Rittenhouse.
The 18-year-old faces multiple charges in the shooting deaths of two men during civil unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, over the police shooting of Jacob Blake in the summer of 2020. Witness testimony wrapped up Thursday after a total of 31 witnesses took the stand.
The National Guard is on standby in the event of any turmoil when the verdict comes in. But before that happens, the judge must still rule on the prosecution’s request to allow the jury to consider lesser charges in case.
