Rittenhouse Recap: National Guard Deployed, Lesser Charges a Possibility

The governor of Wisconsin is deploying the National Guard ahead of the Kyle Rittenhouse trial verdict.

Governor Tony Evers announced the deployment of 500 troops to Kenosha to supplement the hundreds of officers already in place. The judge in the case set closing arguments for Monday.  Rittenhouse faces multiple charges in the shooting deaths of two men during civil unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, over the police shooting of Jacob Blake in the summer of 2020

Lesser charges may be included in Kyle Rittenhouse jury deliberations.

Kenosha County Judge Bruce Schroeder told prosecutors and defense attorneys today he would think about the lesser charges over the weekend.  ADA James Kraus called it a win for prosecutors because it “fits the facts.”

Meanwhile, Kyle Rittenhouse’s mom says President Biden “defamed” her son. Wendy Rittenhouse claims a previous Twitter post from Biden with the teen holding a semi-automatic rifle and a clip of Trump being asked to condemn white supremacists crossed the line.

Biden tweeted the image while he was running for president.  In an interview with Fox News, Wendy Rittenhouse said she was angry with Biden for the tweet and claimed he posted it “for the votes.”
