Hundreds of Afghan refugees on U.S. military bases will settle in Wisconsin.
State officials announced yesterday that eight-hundred-50-or so Afghans will live in Wisconsin, 50-of whom will make Madison home. The state’s children and family services office says the Afghan refugees at Fort McCoy have expressed the desire to remain in the state. In addition to Madison, some of the refugees will settle in Milwaukee, Green Bay, Wausau and the Fox Valley.
