They are fishing with electrified lines and loudspeakers near La Crosse.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is joining with teams from Minnesota to try and clear invasive carp out of the Mississippi River. Fishermen are using electric shocks and loud noises to herd the fish into ‘cells,’ then they are taking the fish out of the river. The last round of carp fishing like this found 34 carp in the river near La Crosse. Both Wisconsin and Minnesota are doing all they can to keep the carp out of the Great Lakes.
