More people are sick with the measles at Fort McCoy than first thought.
Commanders at Fort McCoy now say there are 22 confirmed cases of the measles. Last week, the measles count was just nine. Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services says the risk of the measles spreading to nearby communities is low. Commanders say the measles cases have hit people from four-years-old to 26-years-old, nearly two-thirds of those who are sick were hospitalized. DHS says it provided nearly 11 thousand measles vaccinations to the almost 13 thousand refugees at the fort.
