Weekly jobless numbers are way down.
The Labor Department reports 326-thousand Americans filed first-time claims for unemployment benefits last week. That’s 38-thousand fewer than the previous week’s revised total and well below analysts’ estimate of 345-thousand. The biggest jumps in initial claims were in California, Michigan, Texas, Washington, DC, and Minnesota. The sharpest declines were in Virginia, Maryland, Arizona, Louisiana, and Ohio.
