Water Concerns on Tap for French Island

The Wisconsin DNR issues a drinking water advisory for residents on French Island near La Crosse.

The advisory will remain in effect indefinitely and stems from concern over chemical contamination of the drinking water linked to an increased risk of a variety of cancers and diseases.  There are plans for the state to spend more than a half-a-million-dollars a year for bottled water for the over four-thousand French Island residents.
