The Regency Inn & Suites is going away.

Eau Claire’s city council last night voted to replace the troubled motel with new apartments. The Regency has had a history with crime, drugs, and prostitution. The hope is to build a new, 53-unit apartment complex to replace it. This is the second time this year that Eau Claire has okayed the plan of converting a motel to make way for updated housing. You likely remember that the city approved similar plans for the Campus View Inn & Suites back in July.
