The full moon will look larger than usual Monday night as the Harvest Moon ushers in the arrival of autumn.
Summer will officially come to an end in the Northern Hemisphere when the autumn equinox arrives this Wednesday. For many, autumn begins with the Harvest Moon, which will be at its brightest at around 8 p.m. Eastern Monday night. The Harvest Moon could also appear to have a yellow or orange tint when it’s close to the horizon.
